Online Fashion Boutique: Christina Makowsky

After all these months of silence, I know you have missed us, but we’ve been busy working for our clients and here we are  with details about the newest appearance in our web design portfolio, the elegant online boutique we have designed for New York fashion designer Christina Makowsky. Better known as owner of the Georgina Boutiques, she started her own line this year, and in less than a month she had her collection photographed by famed photographer Peter Langone and we had her website ready for the launch. The brand instantly became successful, got support both from the media and celebrities, and got celebrated with a fashion show in Beverly Hills which was filmed for an upcoming episode of Hollywood Housewives.

Christina Makowsky the Brand

The website opens with a flash slideshow which presents the highlights of the collection. The design was meant to allow the beauty of the garments to speak for itself: black & silver, classy, clean and elegant, with an overall feel of luxury. The garments are shown in motion in a Gallery of videos, also directed by Peter Langone.

The shop unconventionally opens with a gallery of all the items in the collection, and then each item offers a detailed description and multiple views. Users can easily create an account and start shopping.

Social Media

And since everybody has gone social, we have to mention the Christina Makowsky blog, where people can get in touch with the designer, and find out about her newest plans and social activities. The blog is seamlessly integrated with the design of the website and has the same simplicity as the other pages.

Because Christina Makowsky is planing to come up with a new collection during the summer,  behind the video gallery there is a custom flash Content Management System where the administrator of the site can change the content of the video gallery, as well as the images for the homepage slideshow. The CMS has the same elegant feel as the whole website, and is very easy to use: just log in, access the section you want to update, upload the file, and you’re done!

After the launch, the website was received with great enthusiasm by the designer’s clients, and it was also promoted by the Beverly Hills Lifestyle Magazine. We are convinced that we have created a website which successfully reflects the Christina Makowsky Brand. And if our presentation wasn’t convincing enough, visit the site at ChristinaMakosky.com and let the design speak for itself.
