Color of the Year 2011: Honeysuckle Pink

As every year, Pantone Inc. released its trendsetter Color fashion report and suddenly the year just got brighter. The new crowned color, honeysuckle pink, appeared on the fashion scene like a shining star on a dark sky, ready to take its rightful place in the hall of fame and to cast its optimism everywhere.

From dresses to furniture and from paint to business cards, this pink hue took over the world, adding a touch of freshness and joy… And from what we hear, this year, honeysuckle will fill both our hearts and homes.

As a cocktail of hot pink with a soft shade of red and a warming orange touch, honeysuckle has everything to impress and excite you, offering a joyful and refreshing look. And what’s really intriguing and appealing about it, is the subtle retro aspect that will most certainly grant it a time-lasting appearance.

The first to get excited and fall in the arms of the new reigning color are fashion designers… As the trendsetter on the color kingdom, Pantone brings on the spotlights the new shade (with a matching resounding name to go with it – honeysuckle), there comes the beginning of a new season: designers start to amaze us with outstanding silk waves and daring cuts blossoming on the runway and taking our breath away.

And as the new “it” color starts to wow everyone, we will find ourselves trapped in this honeysuckle frenzy, ingenuously dreaming of pink magic veiling the spring air… and we will want nothing else.

To prove even more that everyone is taking the trend seriously, from powder to lipstick, there’s an universal explosion of soft and silky honeysuckle pink makeup tones, adding a fresh and optimistic touch to our look all day long, to wear it everywhere as a fashion statement.

The name is evocative for romantic scenes and sweet perceptions, making it remarkably suiting for wedding invitations, letters and other loving messages, but it can also keep a classic look without making your prints look too girly and unprofessional.
